Sono couplants products have biodegradable formulas which make them the leading choice for use in flaw detection, thickness gauging and acoustic emission testing.

Pyrogel®

Pyrogel couplant offers the broadest temperature range for thickness gauging, flow metering, acoustic emissions testing and flaw detection.

Pyrogel couplant contains no polymers and resists drying, making it an excellent choice for long term flow metering applications.

Grade 7, -50 to 730°F (-45 to 388°C)

High Z® Couplant

High Z HV and High Z LV provide the highest acoustic impedance of all Sonotech® couplants.

Both products were formulated to reduce surface noise and improve coupling performance on curved, rough, pitted and corroded surfaces. Their environmentally benign formulas can be removed with water and it will often facilitate flaw inspection and thickness gauging when no other couplant will function.

High Z LV and High Z HV have a ferrous corrosion inhibition rating of 70.

Shear Gel® Couplant

Shear Gel is specially formulated to provide coupling for shear wave generated by normal incidence (zero degrees) shear wave transducers.

Shear Gel couplant possesses an extremely high viscosity and comes with an operation temperature range of 40° to 90° F and a ferrous corrosion inhibition rating of 85.
